Hazardous goods

Basic Principles

• Strict safety regulations are laid down by law for the packaging and transport of hazardous goods. Hazardous goods may only be transported in packaging that meets these criteria and is approved by the authorities.
• The requirements in relation to packaging are governed by the Hazardous Goods Directive and other standards.
• ZARGES has for many years been producing UN-approved packaging in aluminium. This approval relates to composite packaging (Code UN 4B).

What we at ZARGES offer:

• Consultancy service: Information about legislation and directives. Advice on the classification of hazardous goods. Recommendations for suitable internal and external packaging (incl. padding / cushioning material). Compiling special solutions.
• Testing: Design testing of external, combination and composite packaging (Aluminium 4B/Steel 4A). ZARGES is an authorised inspection authority. Approvals issued via the Federal German Office for Material Research and Testing (BAM).
• Supply: Exterior packaging in standard or special sizes with approval. Complete packaging solutions (composite packaging). Special solutions.
