ZARGES Aluminum Systems on Windpower 2011

ZARGES Aluminum Systems Introduces Rope-Guided Service Lift. New Lift Offers Smoother, More Stable Ride to the Top.

Weilheim, Germany / Amarillo, Texas (May 23, 2011) – A new rope-guided service lift developed by Zarges Aluminum Systems, Weilheim, Germany, is making the trip from the base of a wind tower to the highest internal platform more stable and user-friendly.

Zarges announced the introduction of its new rope-guided service lift today in
conjunction with the American Wind Energy Association’s WINDPOWER 2011
Conference and Exhibition, being held May 22-26 in Anaheim, Calif.

Zarges Managing Director Bernd Göpfert said the company developed the new,
rope-guided lift in cooperation with several wind turbine and tower manufacturers. “We have developed the new lift, and we manufacture them, according to the same high standards that have allowed Zarges to gain a solid reputation for durability, quality and safety in the United States and around the world,” he said. “This lift allows us to meet our customers’ needs and extend our product offering for the entire global industry.”

The new lift meets all American and international standards, including the ASME
A17.1 - Safety Code for Elevators and Escalators, DIN EN 1808 and applicable health and safety requirements. The modular design of the new lift, which features a small, flat control cabinet and an external winch system, provides additional space for users. The control cabinet is accessible from the outside, the winch is mounted on a separate frame and electrical equipment is integrated into cable ducts. The design also enhances the driving experience by improving the transit of rope guides and incorporating torsion resistance into the cab. And, since it is fabricated with aluminum, the lift offers exceptional corrosion protection.

The competitively priced lift can handle a payload of up to 550 pounds, can rise
80 feet per second and measures 118 x 39 x 24 inches.
Customers can select from three access options – a folding door, roller apron or
traverse – either for the short or the long side of the lift. They also can select partial insert, full insert or polycarbonate windows. Additional options include the level of noise protection, cabin lighting and lift color.

The new rope-guided lift complements the full line of Zarges aluminum internal
systems, but can be used in conjunction with any internal components.
