Supply Chain Manager Europe (m/f/u)

Reporting to the COO of WernerCO, the Supply Chain Manager is responsible to develop, lead WernerCo.'s European Supply Chain function with the goal of providing the highest possible service to our customers consistent with Corporate / Global directives and within jointly established budgets in together cooperation with the 9 production plants and distribution centers.

Key Responsibilities (Essential Job Functions):

  • Provide leadership that results in "Excellence" in Customer Care and Supply Chain both externally and internally.
  • Monitor and manage the status of each process within the Supply Chain functions to ensure consistency and effectiveness of the functions.
  • Included but not limited to orders, inventory, inventory management, inbound/outbound product flow, transportation costs, transportation mode selection, inbound calls, SIOP and MPS planning procedures, recruiting, training, and information flow.
  • Ensure all processes and procedures are up to date, properly documented and followed.
  • Included but not limited to distribution planning, inventory planning, inventory management , transaction management, SIOP and MPS, budget development, transportation management, hiring, and training.
  • Serve as primary contact with all appropriate 3rd parties associated within responsible function.
  • Included but not limited to contract negotiation and recommendations, score carding, relationship management and day-to-day management.
  • Drive continuous improvement for the European Supply Chain and organization while providing support and suggestions for inter-departmental continuous improvement.
  • Develop organizational structure recommendations, fill positions appropriately and provide reporting employees appropriate training and development consistent with WernerCo. HR policies.

Experience / Key Competencies:

  • Required: Diploma, Bachelor's degree and 5-10 years of experience working with inventory management , warehousing, transportation management and/or 3PL management;
  • Knowledge and/or understanding of Supply Chain principles and practices
  • Comprehensive knowledge of relevant computer applications such as Access, Excel, Word, SAP and Outlook
  • Strong oral and written communication skills
  • Bilingual (German & English) preferred
  • People Management Skills
  • Able to work as part of a team and independently
  • Problem analysis and problem-solving
  • Customer first orientation
